Councillor Nixon Mye: Committed to Community Growth and Regional Development

Councillor Nixon Mye represents Division 14, Erub (Darnley Island). Though new to this role, Councillor Mye brings a wealth of experience in community governance and small business management, paired with a strong educational foundation.

A 2007 graduate of Trinity Bay State High School in Cairns, Councillor Mye has pursued further qualifications, including a small business course through the Torres Strait Regional Authority, Community Governance studies at Curtin University, and training in ATSI Health, Sports, and Coaching through Cairns TAFE. These achievements reflect his dedication to making a meaningful impact on his community.

As Councillor, Councillor Mye is committed to improving services and representing the interests of Erub Island and the broader Torres Strait region. His governance and business background provide him with the tools to address local challenges and promote sustainable development.

Outside his professional responsibilities, Councillor Mye enjoys cultural activities, traveling, and building friendships and networks, which enrich his approach to community engagement. Passionate about regional growth, Councillor Mye strives to contribute positively to the well-being and prosperity of the Torres Strait.
