Councillor Torenzo Elisala: Dedicated to the Growth and Future of Dauan

Councillor Torenzo Elisala’s primary goal is to enhance access to essential services such as water and housing, driving the future development of Dauan. He envisions a shift in the direction of the Council towards greater autonomy, focusing on empowering local people through skill development for sustainable, meaningful employment—moving away from government job programs with limited outcomes.

With a broad range of experience, Cr. Elisala has held various important roles, including:

• Teacher’s Aide
• Community Police Officer
• Occupational Harvest Diver
• Supervisor with Community Enterprises Australia (CEA)
• TSRA Board Member for Dauan

Cr. Elisala is also an active member of his community, currently serving as a Committee Member for Mura Buai Siba Wum, the local rugby league club for Dauan and Saibai. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and diving, and is passionate about cultural revitalisation for Ailan Kastom. Above all, Cr. Elisala is deeply committed to his family and their future.

His message to the youth of his community is simple but powerful:
